Aldi Lifestyle

Aldi is famously cheap, but haters wonder if one can get natural, healthy food at a store noted for its off-brands and small selection. I love Aldi; the small store allows me to have a routine, and it hosts quite a variety of natural and even organic produce. Here are some of my favorites.

1. Always check the specials fridge. This past week I found this win and it was exquisite as well as much cheaper than its grocery store counterpart.

2. Snacks. Aldi is a German company, and German chocolate is the food of heaven. You must try Schogetten chocolate; there are no words to describe its creamy goodness. The kettle chips are also a good, inexpensive alternative to fatty potato chips, and I got those chocolate pretzels for a business trip. Be sure not to go overboard as you find yummy treats; these goodies will go a long way.

4. Fresh produce. 'Tis the season for produce, so enjoy it. Strawberries are ridiculously cheap, and these salad bags are my favorite go-to for a meatless dinner. I'm not a vegetarian, but I have meatless tendencies, and Aldi makes that possible for a good price.

5. Beverages. Juice, sparkling water, and smoothies are usually always available at every Aldi, and I heartily recommend "Green Goodness;" it looks completely vile, but it tastes delicious. Enjoy!

6. Splurges. I could make my own chicken salad as Colleen tells me to, but I'm too busy to make it from scratch! Aldi has come to my lunch-time aid. Also, their cheesecake is divine.

7. Counter-top fruits. I'm not sure if the avocado is a fruit, but it's listed as that in this list. I always am sure that I have a weekly supply of fresh fruits on my Dinette cake plate for convenient snacks and lunches. It also likes look a picture in the making.

8. The stow-aways. I did not get these from Aldi this week, but sometimes Aldi does carry these. This is simply a reminder that Aldi may not carry your favorite items, which in my case are frozen coconut bars and La Croix carbonated water, but Walmart or your local grocery store won't break the bank if I only get a few items from it each week.

I love meals that allow me to eat quickly and eat well, and Aldi allows me to do this at such a great price. For those of you who have time to cook, Aldi also has other great foods and goods; this is simply my list of favorites that fit the "blunch" lifestyle.
