One Dress, Five Looks

When Colleen came to visit me over Easter, we of course went shopping. Gap has become one of, if not my all time, favorite store. Their classic, minimalist style blended with a bit of hipster is the perfect mix. When I was about to leave empty handed, Gap once again proved that there is always a treasure to be discovered, and this dress was the nugget. It was on a fantastic sale when I picked up this lovely piece, and you should check it out here.
One of my favorite hobbies is creating new clothing pairings, and these are some of the results. This dress is so versatile and would be a perfect garment to bring for a trip with limited suitcase space. Although the fabric easily wrinkles, a straightener and iron can fix it up quickly.
Below are some of my favorite combinations.
1. Denim shirt, plaid shoes, and tote.
Every girl should have a denim shirt she can throw on. I sometimes like to tie the ends of the shirt in knots so that the waist is more defined. Plaid shoes and a polk-a-dot tote bring a bit of pattern to the ensemble.
2. White Oxford beneath the dress.
Jumpers may have left the fashion scene, but Oxfords can never really go out of style. This is my favorite combination. This crisp, classic look is perfect for so many occasions including work or a visit to botanical gardens in the early spring.
3. Gap pullover, moccasins, and green handbag.
This is a bit more of a fashion stretch, but the look is unique and comfortable. This is a great transition outfit from summer to fall. Moccasins add that "hipster" flare that complements the dress so well. This green purse from Kohl's is different enough in color to be a statement but comparable enough in style to be flattering. Embrace those pops of color.
4. Blazer and Oxfords
My favorite blazer from Target and my favorite pair of shoes work perfectly with this dress for a professional twist. Flirty yet classy, this outfit is always a good idea.
5. The Simple Dress
I love simplicity. The dress looks great as it is, which is the sign of a good piece. I cannot wait to sport this new favorite this summer! Throw on a floppy beach hat, an over-sized tote, and splash into summer fun.
