Birthday Haul

To celebrate my birthday, Ross took me to Charlotte for a day of shopping. I had so much fun being able to use some birthday money and giftcards and had a great day out with Ross, since that doesn't happen too often. I thought I'd share some of the things I got so you can take a look for yourself if you like anything!

I cannot go past an Anthropologie and not go in. Not only does it just smell absolutely amazing, but they have the cutest stuff! Just walking into the store is an experience in itself. I love how they are all unique and so artsy. A lot of their stuff is pretty pricey, but I always check out the sale room! I've also found that their home goods are a lot more reasonably priced. Many of my dishes and supplies have come from their house sale section!
Not only do I love Anthropologie, but I also have an extreme obsession with mugs. When I saw this gem, there was no way that I could leave it behind. One more mug can never hurt right? I am completely smitten with its gold handle.
Because it was on sale, I couldn't find it online, but they have a lot of other adorable mugs that you can check out here.

One of the highlights of my birthday was the scavenger hunt Reba made for me. She had Ross hide clues around our place and each clue included a phone number. I ended up having to call a few of my good friends and family which really made the day so special! At the end, I found a giftcard to Francesca's waiting for me. I love this cute boutique and how they have so many adorable gifts as well as clothes.
Ross picked out these really cute earrings. He definitely knows my style! They will go with so many things, and I am on a huge gold kick right now.

We recently *finally* got a second car, and I wanted to get some coasters to keep it clean. I cannot abide when the coasters inside cars are sticky and full of crumbs, and it's really hard to prevent. I was excited to find these super cute coasters at Francesca's. They're absorbent stone coasters so they'll soak up any spills or condensation to hopefully prevent some stickiness. It's also easier to take those out and shake them out instead of having nastiness caked on the bottom of your coasters. Another plus is that they're so cute and positive that it's hard to be upset when you look at them.

Next stop was Sephora. Ross got me a giftcard without me asking or saying I'd want one! I was so proud and touched that he knew I'd enjoy doing some shopping at Makeup-Land. In the check out line I saw this guy. I have heard people rave about this salve, it was cheap, so I bought it. I have really bad chapped lips in the winter, and I was desperate to try something new. I busted this salve out in the car on the way home, and it felt great on the lips and smelled lovely. I was also intrigued when I saw online that it's not only advertised as a lip salve, but it's also for cuts, burns, and ashy knees and elbows! I'm really excited to see how it works!

I was very excited to get this highlighter! I always see people on YouTube using Becca highlighters and I really wanted to try one out, but they're not exactly cheap. I had been using my NYX pressed illumantor which was doing a pretty good job until it fell and broke. Since I had a giftcard and I needed a new highlighter, I decided to take the plunge. A lot of the colors seemed to be a little to pink or gold for my good old Celtic pale skin, but then I saw Pearl. Pearl started as a seasonal highlight and then they added it to their permanent collection. It is so creamy, and looks beautiful on my light skin. At first I thought it might be a little glittery, but it doesn't look like it on the skin! I will have to keep trying it out, but so far so good!

If you are not a Beauty Insider, go sign up now. It's a free reward program, and they give you a really nice gift on your birthday! Last year for my birthday I got a really cheap, crummy eyeshadow palette from Ulta (No offense, Ulta. I still love you). But Sephora gave me a mini gift set from Marc Jacobs! It's great that they give you quality gifts that allow you to try them out before breaking the bank.
The gift set included a black gel eyeliner and a lip creme. I still have to try these out, but they swatch really nicely! If you want to check out the full size items, you can here:

When you go to Sephora, always, always, ALWAYS, take advantage of the free samples! You can get up to three from each world (makeup, skincare, and perfume). Not only does this save you money, but it allows you to check and make sure that your skin will not freak out to anything. This is the main reason why I always get samples. Even if I get products that people say work on their sensitive skin and is made of all-natural ingredients, I can still possibly have an allergic reaction. Sephora is not drug-store priced, and I don't live really close to one, so I don't like taking the chance of buying a full size product and not know how my skin will react to it.
This trip I got 4 samples:
Chanel Coco Mademoiselle (Now, I don't get this in a sample to see if it will break me out. I get it because the full size is freaking expensive and the sample lasts a really long time)

Thanks to my cousin and sister, I have officially become obsessed with Friends. When I found this shirt at Urban Outfitters, I simply had to get it. I may never take it off.

This really cute top is from H&M! It fits loosely and is so comfortable! It's considered one of their "basics," so it was only $10. Even cuter now, huh?

This really cute top is also from H&M. It's a really nice thin material too, which is perfect for South Carolina weather. The material is thick enough and dark enough that it's not see through so you don't have to worry about anything showing through it. Pet Peeve right there.

I absolutely love Loft. Their clothes are so cute, classy, and feminine. I found this adorable shirt in the clearance rack! I got mine in Petite, but they had in in normal as well. I'm the perfect height where I can fit in both. The sleeves are a perfect length to wear down, and it also has buttons to roll up the sleeves to 3/4 . I love how versatile it is and it will be perfect for work as well as play!
